At Anakaínisi, we understand the deep respect martial artists hold for their tools. Each weapon we offer is meticulously crafted to reflect the rich traditions of Korean martial arts. From sleek swords to perfectly balanced staffs, our designs honour centuries of heritage while meeting the needs of today’s martial artists.
We are currently focussing on Korean Jikdo (직도) Ga Gum, (가검) - (Straight Path Training Sword). Aluminium swords (99cm and 91cm lengths in two stiffnesses). They have been designed with very small Kodungi (guard) to allow effective reverse sword movements.
In the coming months we will be offering special editions and steel blades made from L6, Carbon 1095 and Bainitic L6 steels.

We are currently focused on aluminium, non-sharpened training swords, designed for precision practice. However, later in 2025, we will expand our range to include pre-owned swords and high-quality steel options.
Many of you have asked about the differences between metals, so let’s clear up a few things. Aluminium, while lightweight and durable, is not suitable for combat practice or cutting, it’s designed purely for practticing form and perfecting flow.
Now, to settle the debate on Bainitic L6 vs. Carbon 1095 Steel, we took an unconventional approach. Rather than relying on technical specs, we sent handcrafted samples to legendary sword masters of the past, because, for the sake of fun, who needs reality? Their feedback was fascinating…
(Alright, we didn’t actually send swords back through time, but if we could, we've imagined the results would be quite enlightening!)
